To make a new message to send to a person, click New from the top menu. In the “To” textbox, key in the e-mail address of the person you would like to deliver the email to. After you have added a few friends’ addresses in your email directory, you can click the “To:” button to quickly insert their address in the box.
If you have to deliver a duplicate of your email to more than one person, you can use Cc (Carbon Copy – which lets all recipients see the addresses of all people who else has acquired the message) and Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy – which hides other recipients’ email addresses). By default, these options are not displayed. In order to do this, click the Show Cc & Bcc link on the right of the web page to view these boxes.
In the Subject box, type a title for your email’s message. After doing that, type your desired message into the large message box found just below of the Subject box.
You may use the row of icons above the message box to change the text style, text size and other options. By left-clicking and dragging your mouse to highlight a word, you can change the look of that text by clicking on one of these menu icons.
You could also create a link to a web site by clicking on the Insert Link icon and type the address of the site in the box then click OK.
Rather than sending your email immediately, you can decide to save it as Draft if you wish to work on afterwards.
Click Send on the top menu when you are ready to send your message. After this, you will then see a note telling you that the email has been sent. All sent messages will be stored in your Sent folder. If you see an alert requesting you to confirm your account, do as instructed then send your email message once again.
You can decide to click the “Add to contacts” button to add the address of the person you recently emailed to your hotmail email directory for easy access in the future, or simply click “Return to inbox”.
